The IDF General Staff Forum arrived in the early morning hours at the Zikim base and held a memorial formation that opened the events of the third anniversary of the October 7 massacre. During a tour of the base, the story of the battle was presented by the Head of the Home Front Command Staff, Brigadier General Elad Edri, who commanded the Rescue Brigade on October 7. According to an IDF investigation, the Zikim training base was not captured in the surprise attack, thanks to the tenacious fighting and heroism of the command staff and the soldiers of the Tabor Company. The rapid identification of the incident, the forces' regrouping, and their early preparation created the conditions for the defense of the base. The company commander's decision to reinforce the defensive positions with commanders, along with the assumption of command and battle management by his deputy after his fall, allowed the infiltration of the terrorists to be halted. In the battles, seven soldiers and commanders fell, and one civilian and nine soldiers were wounded. The forces eliminated two terrorists who infiltrated the base grounds and at least nine more. In the five days that followed, the soldiers of the Rescue Brigade continued to fight terrorists who tried to attack the camp.
