Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the Yashar party, participated in the International Conference on Counter-Terrorism at Reichman University and claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu received warnings from multiple Arab sources before the October 7 attack. According to Eisenkot, the warnings came from the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and mediator Sufian Abu Zaida. Eisenkot added that the Shin Bet knew something serious was about to happen and requested to carry out targeted assassinations in Gaza, but Netanyahu did not approve this, calling it a "deep failure." Eisenkot accused Netanyahu of fleeing responsibility and fleeing the truth. He recounted that during his tenure as Chief of Staff, many conversations were held with Netanyahu regarding the threat of an invasion into Israeli territory. Eisenkot pledged that the next government would establish a state commission of inquiry. He also criticized Israel's international standing and the "nation that dwells alone" policy. Additionally, former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant participated in the conference and revealed details about attempts to reach a second hostage deal after November 2023, claiming that details of the negotiations were leaked by interested parties, leading to its collapse.
