Chamber of Commerce stresses importance of integration between electronic and cash payments

The Emergency Committee of the Chambers of Commerce in Gaza called on merchants to continue using electronic payment methods and encourage citizens to do so, while continuing to accept available cash, amid a severe cash crisis in the sector.

The Emergency Committee of the Industrial, Agricultural, and Commercial Chambers of Commerce in the Gaza Strip called on merchants, shop owners, commercial establishments, and service providers to continue using available electronic payment methods and encourage citizens to use them, in order to help alleviate pressure on limited cash liquidity. The committee emphasized, in a statement, the importance of not imposing additional fees or price differences on citizens due to the payment method used, and adhering to announced prices. It stressed that integration between electronic payment and available cash is a necessity to deal with the current exceptional circumstances, and that maintaining market activity and facilitating citizens' access to their needs is a shared responsibility.
