"The tunnel in Qalqilya - a red line": Sharon area local leaders concerned

Local leaders in the Sharon region, led by Rafi Saar, Mayor of Kfar Saba and Chairman of the Seam Line Communities Forum, and Osherat Gani Gonen, Head of the South Sharon Regional Council, are warning following the exposure of an underground tunnel and weapons in Qalqilya. Saar described the incident as "severe," illustrating a "real and immediate" threat to residents of the seam line, and called for decisive and systematic state action to prevent the next threat. Gani Gonen added that the tunnel, drones, and terrorist infrastructure near homes constitute "crossing a red line," and that the IDF presence in Judea and Samaria is not reassuring. Both authorities referred to the lessons of October 7 and demanded that the seam line be treated as a front, with appropriate budgets and resources, immediately.
