A 19-year-old from Illinois, Alexandros Paporakis, was arrested on suspicion of planning a mass massacre at a Hindu temple in the Chicago area. According to an AP report, the suspect worked as a cashier at a Taco Bell and presented himself to colleagues as a white supremacist. He sent one of his colleagues an eight-page document titled "Why I Fought: The Aurora Shooter's Manifesto," in which he presented a neo-Nazi ideology, expressed hatred toward Jews and minority groups, and described himself as a "sociopathic neo-Nazi advocating for white supremacy." Suspicion arose after colleagues received disturbing messages from him, including photos of tactical gear. The suspect told colleagues that Sunday would be a "special day," and on that day he called and said his weapon had jammed. Police arrested him as he left his home. A search found an AR rifle with no serial number, loaded magazines, ammunition, and a fuel can with a derogatory nickname. Paporakis is charged with making terrorist threats and illegal possession of a weapon.
