Orientalist Yoni Ben Menachem was interviewed on the program "Israel This Morning" on Channel 14 and claimed that the Arab world is pleased with the film "Naz'a" created by two Israelis, because it strengthens the false Palestinian narrative. According to him, the reactions in the Arab world are positive and there are demands to take steps against Israel in the international arena. Ben Menachem harshly criticized two concerning points: first – the tolerance of Israeli society towards such phenomena during wartime, including blood libels by former prime ministers and senior officers; second – the ongoing failure of Israeli governments in the field of public diplomacy and awareness. He attacked the IDF Spokesperson and the National Public Diplomacy Directorate headed by Tzipi Hotovely, and called for the establishment of an awareness body that would proactively fight for Israel's image. Ben Menachem expressed frustration that his words would not be taken seriously and warned of an ongoing failure.
