Abu Qatish warns of escalation of occupation and settlement in Jerusalem

Hamas leader Majed Abu Qatish warned of the danger of the escalation of the Israeli occupation and its settlers in occupied Jerusalem, stressing that the establishment of a new settlement outpost in Beit Iksa and the demolition of homes in Beit Hanina are part of a plan to impose a settlement reality and displace Jerusalemites.

Hamas leader Majed Abu Qatish warned on Tuesday of the danger of the escalation of the Israeli occupation and its settlers in and around occupied Jerusalem. Abu Qatish stressed that the establishment of a new settlement outpost in the village of Beit Iksa and the demolition of Palestinian homes in the town of Beit Hanina are part of an ongoing plan to impose a new settlement reality and displace Jerusalemites. He explained that these measures reflect the scale of Israeli plans aimed at expanding settlements and seizing more Palestinian land, along with pushing Jerusalemites to leave their land through demolition, restrictions, and forced displacement. He emphasized that the establishment of settlement outposts and the demolition of homes will not change the city's identity or diminish the Palestinian people's attachment to their land and holy sites. Abu Qatish called for urgent Palestinian, Arab, Islamic, and international action to stop settlement, home demolitions, and displacement operations in Jerusalem, and to provide support and protection for the city's residents.
