The occupation arrested more than 15,000 citizens from Gaza since the genocide

The Palestine Center for Prisoners Studies reported that the Israeli occupation has arrested more than 15,000 Palestinians from Gaza since the start of the genocide war in October 2023, including 360 medical personnel and hundreds of women, children, elderly, and people with disabilities. It noted the establishment of new detention camps and systematic torture, and the return of the bodies of 930 martyrs without identification lists.

The Palestine Center for Prisoners Studies, in a statement issued on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, reported that the Israeli occupation authorities arrested more than 15,000 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip since the start of the genocide war in October 2023. The center clarified that the list of detainees included more than 360 medical personnel, in addition to hundreds of women, children, elderly, and people with disabilities. It indicated that the occupation authorities established new detention centers and camps to hold Gaza detainees, most notably the "Sde Teiman," "Ofer," "Negev," and "Rakevet" camps, where the occupation practiced various forms of torture, starvation, systematic medical neglect, and grave violations. It mentioned that despite the occupation releasing thousands of detainees in batches, it handed over the bodies of 930 martyrs to the Palestinian side without any identification lists, with signs of severe torture appearing on a large number of them. It also counted the deaths of 53 prisoners from Gaza detainees inside prisons and camps over the past three years, out of 92 martyrs who died in the prisoner movement since the start of the war, while the center estimates that about 2,000 prisoners from the sector remain in detention to date. It warned of 80 Gaza prisoners held in occupation prisons since before the war, including 43 prisoners whose sentences have ended and are still detained, reiterating its demand for international bodies and human rights institutions to open an urgent international investigation and visit detention centers to monitor the occupation's crimes against prisoners.
