Reserve Brigadier General Harel Knafo, former head of the Southern Command staff and a member of the Bitalonist movement, assessed in an interview with Dana Varon that the achievement on the Ali Taher ridge opens up possibilities for continuing the campaign in southern Lebanon, including an operation toward Nabatieh, one of the main Shiite strongholds in the area. Knafo explained that the ridge's importance lies not only in the Hezbollah command post that operated there, but in its strategic location as a starting point for further moves. He noted that Nabatieh and Tyre are the two most important cities in southern Lebanon for Shiites. Alongside this, Knafo warned against the feeling that the campaign against Hezbollah has ended, and compared it to ISIS, whose end was prematurely predicted. Regarding the thinning of forces in some areas, he said it involves operational considerations and not a concession of achievements, since in certain places everything that could be destroyed has been destroyed.
