The new representative in United Torah Judaism: "Our situation is close to what it was in the Holocaust"

Elikim Stark, the representative of the Belz Hasidic sect in Agudat Yisrael, compared at an election rally in Beit Shemesh the situation of Haredim who cannot leave the country due to draft orders to the Holocaust period. According to him, the restrictions also make it difficult to arrange marriages with families from abroad.

Elikim Stark, the representative of the Belz Hasidic sect in the Agudat Yisrael list, said this evening (Thursday) at an election rally in Beit Shemesh that the situation of the Haredim is "close to what it was in the Holocaust." Stark referred to draft dodgers who cannot leave the country due to draft orders, and claimed that this issue prevents them from flying abroad for matchmaking, so the families of the brides have to come to Israel. "When you want to arrange a match abroad, they have to come here because you can't (leave the country). I took it upon myself not to tell stories about the Holocaust in the early years, but I have no other definition," he said. Later, Stark sharply criticized the Deputy President of the Supreme Court, Justice Noam Solberg, calling his approach "Solbergism" and saying that "in the State of Israel, it is more worthwhile to be a terrorist and kill entire families than to be Haredi." Stark, 34, was born in Belgium and grew up in Belz institutions. He replaced Deputy Minister Israel Eichler in his position.
