IDF Humvee stolen from Camp Julis found in southern Israel
A military Humvee stolen from an IDF base was found hidden in a packing house in Moshav Amioz. Police are investigating whether a soldier assisted in the theft.
The Hummer stolen on Thursday from Camp Julis, the parent base of the Yahalom and Maglan reconnaissance units, was located at a packing house in Moshav Amioz in the south. The jeep was found following intelligence information received at the Shaguv Shalom police station, and detectives arrived at the scene and located it. Police are investigating who is behind the theft, and the assessment is that the thieves received assistance from a soldier serving at the base. Following the theft, the IDF's Technology and Logistics Directorate launched a 12-day operation for returning military equipment, during which soldiers and civilians can return equipment without identifying themselves or facing criminal proceedings. The IDF spokesperson stated that the IDF continues to act against thefts of weapons and heavy equipment, and that these are isolated incidents without a widespread phenomenon.
