Israel's attorney general rejects Likud claims of delaying foreign interference probe
Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara denies allegations of obstructing an investigation into foreign interference in elections, stating significant actions were approved and a joint Shin Bet-police team was formed.
Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara today (Tuesday) rejected Likud's claims of delaying the investigation into suspicions of foreign involvement in elections. According to her, significant investigative actions have already been approved at the Shin Bet's request, and anyone who needs to be investigated will be investigated. Meanwhile, a joint investigation team has been established by the Shin Bet and the Israel Police, accompanied by the State Attorney's Office. The response comes after the Likud party joined the Lavi organization's demand and called on Baharav-Miara to allow the investigation of Knesset members from the Arab parties and their assistants. Likud claimed that the Attorney General is acting to delay the investigation and demanded that she cease attempts to cover up and delay.
