The drug used by Hamas terrorists: massive seizure of Captagon pills in Bethlehem

A 48-year-old resident of Segev Shalom was arrested in Bethlehem after more than 170,000 Captagon tablets and over 17,000 Tramadol tablets were found in his possession, with an estimated value of over 10 million shekels. The suspect was transferred to Israeli police in coordination with the Palestinian police and the IDF, and is being investigated on suspicion of possessing dangerous drugs and illegal entry into Area A.

A 48-year-old resident of Segev Shalom was arrested in Bethlehem after more than 170,000 tablets suspected to be Captagon and over 17,000 Tramadol tablets were found in his possession, with an estimated value of over 10 million shekels. The suspect was caught last night (Monday) by the Palestinian police, and after coordination between the parties, he was transferred to officers of the Etzion station in the Judea district. His vehicle and the materials were also transferred to the officers. The transfer of the suspect was carried out in coordination between the commander of policing in the Bethlehem sector of the police coordination and liaison directorate in the Judea and Samaria district and his counterparts in the Palestinian police, with the participation of representatives of the IDF coordination and liaison directorate. The police noted that Captagon was used by Hamas terrorists in the October 7 massacre. The suspect was transferred for investigation at the Etzion station regarding the seized materials and on suspicion of entering Area A illegally, and is expected to be brought to court for a hearing on extending his detention.
