Last night (Tuesday), an attempted attack occurred in a parking lot on Kaplan Street in Petah Tikva. A group of teenagers, about 16 years old, wearing hoodies covering their heads, ran toward a car and tried to pull the driver out. The driver panicked, began reversing with the car doors open, hit several parked cars, and fled. Shortly after, the teens also fled. The incident was partially captured on the security camera of a local resident, Noya Melamed, who said she heard collision noises and ran to the window. Neighbors who witnessed the incident described how the teens stormed toward the car. Melamed criticized the Petah Tikva municipality, claiming she had previously asked them to install security cameras in the area due to unusual incidents, but her request was not addressed. The identities of the teens, the driver, and the motive for the attempted attack have not yet been clarified.
