Detectives from the Tayibe station and National Guard fighters in the Border Police uncovered a weapons cache in a house in the city of Tayibe earlier this week. During a search of the house, the forces located a safe containing three pistols of the Glock and Negev types, magazines, ammunition, and a telescopic sight intended for long weapons. In addition, a drone, a charge, and batteries were seized in the house. Following the discovery, a 44-year-old mother and her 19-year-old son, residents of the city, were arrested on suspicion of possessing weapons. The mother, who was present at the house during the search, was taken for questioning and subsequently released under restrictive conditions by the court. The son's detention was extended until Tuesday, October 20. The operation was conducted as part of the Central District police's fight against the possession of illegal weapons and elements involved in crime in the Triangle area. The police continue to investigate the circumstances of the weapons' possession and their intended use, along with examining the additional equipment. At this stage, it has not been reported whether the weapons are linked to shooting incidents or criminal conflicts in the area.
