After months of secrecy, Ukrainian commanders have revealed the details of Operation Vivaldi, which turned a defensive battle into an offensive. The operation involved the use of drones, ground robots, and new combat methods that severely damaged Russian forces. Ukrainian drones struck up to 50 Russian vehicles daily, sometimes up to 160 km behind enemy lines. The Russian logistics system was so paralyzed that soldiers had to unload equipment 40 to 50 km from the front and march on foot, with a single soldier carrying one artillery shell for about 32 km. Russian soldiers were documented holding cardboard signs saying they were hungry and thirsty. Ground robots are used to transport ammunition, batteries, food, and evacuate bodies under fire, allowing three times more supplies to be moved compared to other brigades. General Andriy Biletsky told journalists from the New York Times that current Russian activity does not look like an organized military operation but rather death throes.
