The Ministry of National Security has completed the process of establishing 25 new local police units, as part of Minister Itamar Ben Gvir's policy to strengthen governance and personal security. The units will join 102 municipalities already operating the system. Implementation awaits the Prime Minister's signature and approval from the Knesset's National Security Committee. The decision is based on a recently published study, according to which over 50% of quality-of-life incidents are handled through local policing, and the average response time is shortened by 15 to 20 minutes. Minister Ben Gvir stated: 'We continue the revolution to strengthen personal security. Another 25 local police units mean more forces on the ground, more enforcement, and more security for citizens.'
