Yisrael Beiteinu has filed an urgent petition with the Central Elections Committee against the Shas party, alleging that Shas activists are distributing kippot bearing the portrait of the late Rabbi Ovadia Yosef and the inscription "I have chosen the ways of faith" at the entrance to polling stations in Afula, in violation of election propaganda laws. The petition was submitted to the committee chairman, Judge Yitzhak Amit, and demands an immediate order prohibiting the distribution. According to the petitioners, this constitutes illegal propaganda and the distribution of gifts prohibited under election law.
