Meanwhile, the Shin Bet presented an alternative security framework for party leaders, formulated following a decision by the ministerial committee. Shin Bet Director David Zini approved a series of measures: intelligence units will monitor threats and compile a situational picture regarding all party leaders; a party leader who chooses to hire a private security company will be able to receive authorization for his security personnel to carry weapons, even without information about a concrete threat; the security division will coordinate its activities with party leaders and private teams. The service will conduct periodic situational assessments to determine the threat level. The implication: Eisenkot will not receive direct security from the Shin Bet at this stage, but rather intelligence monitoring and coordination with private security.
