Gaz claimed that the prosecution started the mistake, and that after summoning Yehuda Weinstein to testify on marginal issues, it will be difficult for the court to oppose a future request to summon Mandelblit. According to him, the trial could continue beyond 2028, when the presiding judge is expected to leave her position. Gaz criticized the management of the proceedings: "It cannot be that a defendant testifies for a year and a half - such a thing has never happened. In a year and a half, two trials are completed." He added that the prolongation of the trial has broad implications, and that large parts of the judicial reform would not have been initiated had it not been for the trial.
