Israel's high-tech market is experiencing an unprecedented talent frenzy driven by the global boom in artificial intelligence systems. Leading technology companies, startups, and research laboratories are fiercely competing for skilled personnel, offering developers and mathematicians salaries from 50,000 to 90,000 shekels per month. In addition to salary, incentive packages include stock options and an expanded social benefits package. According to data from the GotFriends community, the average earnings of rank-and-file generative model developers at the beginning of 2025 were around 46,800 shekels, while team leaders received between 60,000 and 80,000 shekels. At global corporations such as Meta or Nvidia, the total annual compensation for leading specialists in Israeli offices approaches 950,000 to 970,000 shekels. Employers have high demands: most sought-after researchers hold master's and PhD degrees, but companies are also eager to hire promising bachelor's graduates who have demonstrated outstanding abilities in their studies or service in technological units of the Israel Defense Forces. Of particular interest are frontier labs creating their own base models, such as the Israeli team of the SSI project, founded by OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever, and the doubleAI project of Professor Amnon Shashua.
