Reports in Iran of another attack today (Sunday) on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, near Iran's southern coast. The reports come after a series of explosions and attacks reported in the area in recent days, amid security tensions between Iran and the United States. Last night, Iran reported sounds of explosions heard on Qeshm Island, which is considered strategically important due to its location near shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz. The reports followed an American attack on an air defense system on the island on Friday. Earlier this week, on Monday, additional explosions were reported on Qeshm Island and in the city of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran. Eyewitnesses reported fighter jets seen in the area's skies, and Iranian reports claimed that several missiles struck the air defense systems on the island. Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards claimed that their air defense systems intercepted two American aircraft south of Qeshm Island and managed to take control of them. They further claimed that another American drone was destroyed east of the Strait of Hormuz.
