Repeat elections? The scenario that could change the entire picture in the right-wing bloc
Strategic consultant Shalom Elbaz claimed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu enters coalition negotiations from a position of strength, despite the right-wing bloc not securing 61 seats. According to him, in repeat elections the right would increase its power due to fewer wasted votes and more effective surplus-vote agreements.
Strategic consultant Shalom Elbaz stated in an interview with Oded Menashe that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu enters coalition negotiations from a position of strength, despite the right-wing bloc not achieving 61 seats in the elections for the 26th Knesset. According to him, the change bloc came to the elections highly prepared with four large and stable parties, but its only achievement was preventing a majority for the right. Elbaz assessed that if repeat elections were held, the right would increase its power thanks to fewer wasted votes and more effective surplus-vote agreements, adding that 'the public understands that you can't go round after round.'
