Prisoners Authority: Deteriorating Health of Prisoner Qusai Alyan in 'Gilboa' Prison

The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority revealed the deteriorating health of prisoner Qusai Alyan from the town of Issawiya in occupied Jerusalem, who is detained in Gilboa Prison, serving a sentence of 14 and a half years. Alyan suffers from lung diseases, asthma, and shortness of breath, has lost about 16 kilograms of weight, and suffers from boils spreading across his body. The authority calls for monitoring his health condition.

The authority said Alyan has been detained since December 14, 2021, and suffers from several diseases and health problems, including lung disease, asthma, and shortness of breath, noting that he has lost about 16 kilograms of weight, and also suffers from boils spreading across his body. According to the authority, occupation forces stormed Alyan's home and blew up its door before arresting him and taking him to the Moscowiya investigation center, where he was subjected to a strip search and harsh interrogation. He spent 20 days in a solitary confinement cell unsuitable for human living. He was transferred between several prisons, and described the detention conditions in Gilboa as very difficult, with severe overcrowding and lack of food. The authority demands that he be examined by a specialist doctor and undergo necessary tests.
