Pistols and M16 magazines: illegal weapons found in residential compound in Rahat, resident arrested
Over the weekend, police seized pistols, magazines, weapon parts, dozens of bullets, and copper ingots during an operational activity in Rahat. A resident of the city was arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal weapons. The station commander declared a zero-tolerance policy against gunfire and violence.
During the past weekend, as part of an operational activity by the Israel Police against shooting incidents and the possession of illegal weapons, numerous weapons were seized in a residential compound in the city of Rahat. Among the items seized: a Glock pistol, two pistol magazines, a full M16 magazine, dozens of 9mm bullets, and 27 copper ingots, which are suspected to be intended for ammunition production. A suspect, a resident of Rahat, was arrested and transferred for investigation. In another activity, following sounds of gunfire, two additional suspects were arrested, and another pistol, magazines, M16 rifle stocks, and weapon grips were seized. The commander of the Rahat station, Chief Superintendent Yitzhak Yona, stated that the police operate with zero tolerance against shooting and violence incidents, and that cooperation between units allows them to remove weapons from the streets.
