From the start of 2026 through 11 October, 383,617 fines were issued in Israel on the basis of A-3 video enforcement camera data. Of these, 367,053 were for speeding and 16,564 for running a red light. In August 2026 the police lowered the cameras' triggering threshold, and now a fine can be issued even for a slight excess of the speed limit. The previous unofficial margin was about 10% above the permitted speed. The police did not disclose the new threshold. Since mid-July, about 100,000 speeding fines have been issued, but not all of them are connected to the reconfiguration. A-3 cameras work by measuring travel time between metal strips. The police plan to operate them until 2029. The publication notes that the exact number of fines after the settings were changed is unknown.
