Uzbekistan proposes increasing fines for violating rules of conduct on airplanes

Uzbekistan's Ministry of Transport has drafted a bill to increase fines for violating rules of conduct on board airplanes. For a first violation, a fine of 2.2 to 4.4 million soums (566–1133 shekels) is proposed; for a repeat violation within a year, 6.6 to 8.8 million soums (1700–2270 shekels). Public discussion will last until October 24.

Uzbekistan's Ministry of Transport has drafted a bill tightening liability for violating rules of conduct on board airplanes. The document amends Article 117 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. For failure to comply with orders of the commander or crew, a fine of 2.2 to 4.4 million soums (approximately 566–1133 shekels) is proposed. A repeat violation within a year will entail a fine of 6.6 to 8.8 million soums (approximately 1700–2270 shekels). The goal is to improve flight safety. Public discussion will last until October 24. The changes have not yet been adopted.
