Netanyahu at the Likud faction meeting: This is the key to deciding the elections
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at the Likud faction meeting in Petah Tikva that there is parity between the blocs, "60:60", and defined raising voter turnout in right-wing strongholds as the key to deciding the elections. According to him, if the right wins "the three seats that are with Vinter and Zelikha" — it will win.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the political bloc map today (Sunday) during the Likud faction meeting in Petah Tikva, and assessed that at this stage there is parity between the camps: "There is currently a tie between the blocs, 60:60." According to Netanyahu, raising voter turnout in right-wing strongholds will be the factor that decides the election campaign. "If we do not raise voter turnout in the right-wing strongholds, we will not win and we will get a left-wing government of Eisenkot, Yair Golan, Liberman, Bennett and the Arab parties," he said. He further added that if the right-wing camp succeeds in adding "three seats that are with Vinter and Zelikha," in his words, "we will win." His remarks come against the background of Channel 14 news poll data published last week, indicating a narrowing of the gap between him and the chairman of the Yashar party, Gadi Eisenkot, on the question of suitability for prime minister. According to the poll, Netanyahu receives 52% support compared to 48% for Eisenkot, after in the previous poll the gap stood at 54% versus 46%. In a poll published on September 17, Netanyahu received 57% versus 43% for Eisenkot — a narrowing of five percent in less than three weeks.
