The movement accused the occupation government of "unprecedented escalation" through its war on the Palestinian people, their land, and holy sites, foremost among them Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and of protecting extremist settlers and entrenching plans to Judaize the Al-Aqsa Mosque, annexation, and displacement. Hamas pointed out that the Al-Aqsa Intifada, which began on September 28, 2000, will remain an "inspiring icon" for generations. The movement renewed its pledge to be faithful to the blood of the martyrs and the sacrifices of the prisoners, affirming that the Palestinian people will not give up their land and rights. It stressed that Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque represent the heart of the conflict, rejecting any division or partnership in the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Hamas called for a Palestinian move towards consensus on a unified struggle strategy, and sustainable Arab, Islamic, and international support. It also called on Palestinians to continue their presence and seclusion in the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
