Israeli occupation forces stormed the home of detainee Nazih Abu Aoun (53) and the home of his son, former detainee Islam Abu Aoun, in Jaba' village south of Jenin early Sunday, October 11, 2026, for the second time in two weeks. The forces caused extensive damage to the property, smashing furniture and tampering with its contents, in what the family described as a policy of harassment and revenge. Two weeks earlier, the forces brought Abu Aoun to the home in shackles before returning him to detention without allowing his family to speak with him. His detention began in 1993, and he has spent over 18 years in prison across more than ten arrests, most under administrative detention without charge or trial. He has been known as the "dean of administrative detainees" since 2010. He completed 50 consecutive months in administrative detention during his latest arrest, which began in August 2022 and was renewed eight times, before the occupation authorities transferred his file to what they call a "security case" and moved him to the Jalameh interrogation center without informing his family or lawyer. The family held the prison administration fully responsible for his life and called on human rights organizations to intervene urgently.
