Now it's official: the IDF Intelligence Corps' "brain explosion" is underway - starting in April 2027 the units will sit under one roof
The head of the IDF Intelligence Corps, Maj. Gen. Shlomi Binder, updated unit commanders that in April 2027 the move to the new Intelligence Campus at Likit Junction in the Negev will begin. In the first stage, thousands of soldiers of the training array will move, followed later by operational units. At its peak the campus will hold about 15,000 service members and will house units such as 8200, 9900, 81 and the Research Division. Intelligence Corps leaders hope the encounter between the units will lead to a "brain explosion" that accelerates processes and creates operational cooperation.
The head of the Intelligence Corps, Maj. Gen. Shlomi Binder, updated unit commanders that in April 2027 the move to the new Intelligence Campus at Likit Junction in the Negev will begin. In the first stage, thousands of soldiers of the IDF Intelligence Corps training array will be transferred, and afterwards operational units. In the coming months, hundreds of soldiers and commanders from the establishment headquarters will move in order to prepare for absorption. At its peak the campus is expected to hold about 15,000 soldiers, with potential for expansion to thousands more. Among the units that will move to the complex: 8200, 9900, the technological unit 81 and the Research Division. In the Intelligence Corps leadership they assess that the connection between the units in the same space will lead to a "brain explosion" that will shorten and accelerate processes and open up creativity. A senior official said the new dynamic will produce outputs that could not have existed without it. The campus will operate as a "closed base" with modern housing, a food market similar to the Sarona complex, gyms and work complexes in green construction. Security will be carried out by Border Police forces.
