Katz: "If Hezbollah joins Iran in an attack – it will be dealt a severe blow"

Defense Minister Israel Katz visited Lebanon and threatened Hezbollah that if it joins an Iranian attack on Israel, it will be dealt a severe blow, will lose territory in southern Lebanon, and the Dahieh quarter in Beirut will be evacuated. Katz also threatened Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem with assassination.

Defense Minister Israel Katz visited Lebanon today (Wednesday) and issued a sharp threat to Hezbollah. During a tour with senior Northern Command officers, Katz warned that if the terrorist organization joins an Iranian attack on Israel, it is expected to face a harsh response. Katz elaborated: Hezbollah will be dealt a severe blow, will lose additional territory in southern Lebanon in the Nabatieh and Litani areas, which will become part of Israel's permanent security zone, and the Dahieh quarter in Beirut will be evacuated, turning over a million Shiites into displaced persons. The visit was held together with Northern Command commander Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo and 91st Division commander Brig. Gen. Yuval Gaz. Katz received a briefing on Operation "Silver Plow" to destroy terror infrastructure and praised the fighters. He concluded with a personal threat: "Nasrallah destroyed the Shiite community until he was eliminated – and Naim Qassem may destroy it completely – until he too is eliminated."
