Criminals extorted a businessman who worked with the Defense Ministry – the Shin Bet intervened

A well-known businessman from central Israel, who works with the Defense Ministry, became entangled in a severe extortion case by a known crime organization. After winning a multi-million shekel tender, he refused to pay extortion money, and in response a fragmentation grenade was thrown at his home, followed by gunfire at his home by masked individuals. Due to the sensitivity of the case, the Shin Bet is involved in the investigation.

After winning a multi-million shekel tender and beginning to carry out the work, criminal elements approached him with the aim of extorting him. He refused to pay, and they began to attack him. About two and a half months ago, a fragmentation grenade was thrown at his home, and today two masked individuals on a motorcycle fired at his home. Following various sensitivities of the case, the police decided to involve the Shin Bet, and it is now entering the picture. A source familiar with the details of the investigation stated: "Everyone who carried out the shooting and threw the grenade, as well as those who sent them – will be arrested and pay a heavy price."
