"Not one of these cowards": journalist condemns protest against Netanyahu

Kuwaiti journalist Jassem al-Juraid criticized the delegations that left the UN General Assembly hall during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech on September 24. He noted that the same delegations did not leave the hall during the speech of representatives of the Iranian regime, calling them "cowards." Al-Juraid is known for his criticism of radical Islam and support for normalization of relations between Arab countries and Israel.

Kuwaiti journalist and opposition figure Jassem al-Juraid, formerly of the Al-Qabas newspaper, strongly condemned the walkout of delegations that left the UN General Assembly hall during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech on September 24. Among those who left were representatives of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, Turkey, and Iran. Al-Juraid emphasized that none of these delegations left the hall during the speech of representatives of the Iranian regime, calling them "cowards." In his view, this indicates serious problems with the moral principles of the international community. He also noted Israel's actions against terrorist groups and ended his post with the words "Am Israel Chai." Al-Juraid is known for his criticism of the Muslim Brotherhood, Iranian influence, and radical Islam, as well as his public support for normalization of relations between Arab countries and Israel. In March 2026, he already made similar statements at a session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
