New helipad in Jerusalem of the "Hatzolah Air" organization in partnership with MDA

The "Hatzolah Air" organization launched the Herzog Helipad in Jerusalem over the weekend, a medical helicopter landing pad at the Herzog Medical Center, with an investment of about 5 million NIS. The helipad, which will be operated in partnership with MDA and other partners, is intended to improve the airborne medical evacuation capability in the Jerusalem area, Beit Shemesh, the Jordan Valley, and Judea and Samaria.

The "Hatzolah Air" organization (Hatzolah Air), a non-profit organization founded by Jewish-American philanthropist Eli Rowe in 2018, launched the Herzog Helipad in Jerusalem over the weekend (September 26, 2026). The helipad is located at the Herzog Medical Center and is intended for operating medical helicopters, primarily the Sikorsky S-76 evacuation helicopter. The construction of the helipad, costing about 5 million NIS, was carried out with the assistance of donors, particularly the contribution of David and Judy Eger. The helipad will be operated in partnership with MDA, Brook Aviation, Herzog Medical Center, and Hadassah Medical Center. Alongside the helipad, an activity center is being established, including operational infrastructure, control and coordination facilities, and crew amenities. The goal is to provide airborne medical evacuation capability in the Jerusalem area, Beit Shemesh, the Lakhish region, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Judea and Samaria. The organization has performed over 1,800 medical flight missions in 24 countries, including evacuating wounded from Ukraine and the Gaza envelope after October 7, 2023.
