In the video, Lapid reveals for the first time that the source of the information leading to the warning was Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu himself. Lapid recounts that two weeks before the massacre, he received a security briefing from Netanyahu, during which the intelligence picture was presented to him. According to him, he was horrified by the intelligence material, which he described as clearer and more dangerous than ever, and by Netanyahu's complacency in the face of the warnings. Lapid claims that Netanyahu stopped listening, ignored warnings from the Chief of Staff, the Shin Bet head, and leaders of the UAE and Egypt, and instead told Channel 14 that the warnings were exaggerated. Lapid asserts that had Netanyahu taken the warnings seriously, October 7 could have been prevented. He emphasizes that he does not absolve the IDF and Shin Bet of responsibility, but the ultimate responsibility lies with the Prime Minister.
