Muhammad Yassin, a young man in his 20s from Tamra, was murdered about a week and a half ago as a result of gunfire at the car he was traveling in on his way to attend a wedding. His father, Samer, said his wife drove their son to his friends, and from there they traveled to Kafr Kanna. Suddenly, unidentified individuals opened fire at the car, and his friends noticed that Muhammad was hit by a bullet in his upper body. He did not hold on for long and died. The father estimates the shooting was random, because another car was also hit, and that his son was not the target. He criticized the lack of deterrence and enforcement, and expressed concern that the murder case would not be solved. Police said the background is criminal and the circumstances are under investigation. Since the beginning of the year, 176 people have been murdered in Arab society, compared to 193 by October 1 last year – a decrease of 17 murders, but still a murder every day and a half. Muhammad's cousin, Jawad, 17, was also murdered last February.
