More than 60 countries participate in global solidarity movements with Palestine.. and wide activities in Latin America
Cities in Latin America are preparing to host marches and solidarity events with Palestine as part of international movements involving more than 200 organizations from more than 60 countries, lasting from October 9 to 11. The events include marches in Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Venezuela, in addition to a virtual academic meeting of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences.
Cities in Latin America are preparing to host popular marches and cultural and academic events in solidarity with the Palestinian people, as part of international movements from October 9 to 11, involving more than 200 organizations from more than 60 countries, according to the campaign organizers. The events are organized in coordination with the Global Coalition for Palestine, with the participation of human rights organizations, unions, popular movements, and student unions, demanding the protection of Palestinian rights, stopping violations, and enhancing accountability under international law. In Mexico, the movements include a march in Mexico City, along with events in Guadalajara, Morelia, and other cities. Peru, Ecuador, Chile, and Colombia are also witnessing solidarity activities as part of the Global Day of Action for Palestine. In Brazil, São Paulo is preparing to host a demonstration starting from Roosevelt Square towards the Municipal Theater, and the city of Salvador is hosting a cultural week including film screenings and discussions. The events extend to Argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, and countries in Central America. On the academic front, the Latin American Council of Social Sciences is organizing a virtual meeting titled "Academic Commitment to Palestine." The organizers seek to expand the scope of international solidarity by demanding a halt to arms transfers to Israel and holding those responsible for violations accountable.
