Military campaign in Jerusalem and closure of villages and arrest of 50 citizens

Israeli occupation forces launch a wide military campaign in villages and towns northwest of occupied Jerusalem, arresting about 50 citizens, raiding dozens of homes, and turning some into military barracks, while closing the entrances to the area and imposing movement restrictions.

Israeli occupation forces have been continuing since dawn Wednesday, October 7, 2026, a wide military campaign in villages and towns northwest of occupied Jerusalem. The campaign includes the arrest and detention of about 50 citizens, the raiding of dozens of homes and the conversion of some into military barracks, field investigations and assaults against citizens, along with the closure of the entrances to the area and the tightening of restrictions on the movement of residents. The campaign targeted the towns of Beit Anan, Beit Duqqu, Badu, Qatanna, al-Qubeiba, Beit Surik, and Beit Iksa. In Beit Anan, former mayor Abdullah Rabi was arrested, who had been out of occupation prisons for about 27 years, along with a number of released prisoners. In Badu, occupation machinery began demolishing the lower floor of the home of the family of prisoner Qadri Samara. Local sources reported that the detainees were subjected to beatings during field investigations. The military measures led to the isolation of the villages and towns from their surroundings and disrupted the movement of citizens, workers, and students.
