"Matan's Room": The Last Wish of the Fallen Soldier in Gaza Came True

Staff Sergeant Matan Vinogradov, a Nahal Brigade soldier who fell in battle at Shifa Hospital in March 2024, left a note with a request to establish a project to help others. Staff Sergeant Matan Vinogradov, a soldier in the 932nd Battalion of the Nahal Brigade, fell in battle at Shifa Hospital in Gaza on March 18, 2024, at the age of 20. Before leaving for combat, he left notes on his mobile phone for his family, including a request to establish a project in his memory that would help others over time. Two and a half years after his death, thanks to a crowdfunding campaign initiated by his family with the help of his company comrades' parents, 'Matan's Room' was inaugurated at the North Medical Center (Poriya) — a multisensory room for children's rehabilitation. The room, inaugurated at the Helmsley Rehabilitation Center, is expected to assist about 150 children annually, including children with head injuries, orthopedic and neurological injuries. It features ambient lighting, a fiber optic waterfall, a sound system, tactile and olfactory stimuli, and a vibro-acoustic system. His brother-in-law, Slava Kislyov, said the project suits Matan's character. The family thanked the donors and the hospital for helping fulfill his will.
