Comedian Matan Peretz harshly attacked the left-wing camp, following recordings published on Channel 14 News. The recordings, according to the report, reveal that Democrats party candidate attorney Gaby Lasky was part of an organization that sought to create chaos during the war in order to topple the Prime Minister. Peretz came out against what he called the 'hypocrisy' of the left, and wondered: 'How are you different from a Haredi who doesn't want to enlist? Because the state doesn't do exactly what you want, so you go to burn it down?' He compared the left's threats to leave the country or paralyze it with protests to the conduct of the Haredim, and claimed that those who take these steps 'the state was never and will never be theirs.' Peretz recalled the period of the disengagement from Gush Katif as an example of different conduct, where even those who opposed the step continued to serve in the army and pay taxes out of love for the land.
