Three female workers at a private daycare in Ariel, including the daycare manager, were arrested on suspicion of abusing toddlers. In security camera footage from just one day, 36 suspected cases of violence were identified, including slaps, throwing, and blocking mouths and airways. The investigation was opened following a report of suspicious conduct, and so far five days of footage out of about 60 have been reviewed. Among the parents at the daycare is former Knesset member Oren Hazan, whose son was injured in the head months ago. Hazan said he was told the child slipped and hit the wall, but now he suspects the injury was not accidental. Other parents described changes in their children's behavior, scratches and bruises, and different stories they received from the manager. One of the suspects claimed that blocking mouths is a 'procedure' at the daycare. The remand of two of the suspects was extended until October 25–26.
