Just 65 euros — Blue Bird launched unexpected flights

Blue Bird Airways announced a reduction in the cost of flights from Israel to Crete to 65 euros one way. The offer coincided with the aftermath of a powerful storm that caused flooding on the island. The company also presented tourist packages with accommodation from 299 euros.

Blue Bird Airways announced a significant reduction in the cost of flights from Israel to the Greek island of Crete. Tickets for direct flights to Heraklion can now be purchased from 65 euros one way. For comparison, in May 2026 a flight to Chania cost from 122 euros. Thus, the minimum cost dropped by almost 47%. In addition to individual tickets, the company presented tourist packages with accommodation in five-star hotels from 299 euros per person. Marketing director Ilan Shalev noted that travel has ceased to be a seasonal activity. However, the new offer appeared against the backdrop of serious weather problems on Crete. In early October the island suffered from a prolonged storm with intense rainfall, flooding and road closures. An 81-year-old farmer is reported to have died in the Rethymno area. The weather remains unstable, especially in the Heraklion area, where Blue Bird is offering the new flights.
