Italian fighter jet damaged in attack on military base in Saudi Arabia

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto reported that there were no casualties among Italian military personnel stationed at the base, and no additional damage to equipment or infrastructure. Crosetto monitored developments together with the Italian Chief of Defense Staff, General Luciano Portolano, amid several attacks carried out against the site. Following the incident, Crosetto requested senior military command to conduct a reassessment of regional developments, force posture, and operational options. Meanwhile, in Italy, the Five Star Movement party demanded that Crosetto appear before parliament to explain the risks to approximately 400 Italian Air Force personnel stationed at the base. The party claimed it had warned in recent days about the possibility of attacks against the base.
