Israeli woman visiting Thailand has visa revoked following conduct complaints by locals

Thai authorities on Koh Phangan recommended revoking the visa of Israeli woman Einav Ashuel, 33, after complaints of threatening and abusive behavior toward hotel staff and tourists. Two police complaints were filed. Authorities have not confirmed revocation or deportation. The Israeli Embassy warned travelers to comply with local laws.

Thai authorities on the island of Koh Phangan have recommended revoking the visa of Einav Ashuel, a 33-year-old Israeli woman, following complaints about her conduct toward hotel staff and tourists. The Special Committee for Reviewing the Behavior of Foreign Nationals on Koh Phangan announced the recommendation on Thursday after local police received two complaints alleging threatening and abusive behavior, including using services without paying, shouting, cursing, insulting employees, and threatening physical harm. The recommendation followed a meeting chaired by Koh Phangan District Chief Paisit Thongcharoen. Authorities have not confirmed whether the visa has been revoked or if deportation has occurred. Ashuel is not the first Israeli to face such measures; three Israelis were deported in March for displaying Chabad flags and distributing leaflets on Koh Tao, and in September, Israeli Yaakov Ohayon was deported after a threat conviction. The Israeli Embassy in Bangkok has warned travelers to comply with local laws.
