Eisenkot's party: From tomorrow, his security will be under Shin Bet responsibility

The Yashar! party announced that Gadi Eisenkot will be under Shin Bet security starting tomorrow, through a private security company operated by Unit 730. The announcement comes about a month after the Shin Bet said it did not plan to provide him with security.

The Yashar! party of Gadi Eisenkot announced this evening (Saturday) that starting tomorrow, his security will be under the responsibility of the Shin Bet. The security will be provided by a private security company, directly operated and guided by Unit 730 of the Shin Bet. The announcement comes about a month after the Shin Bet announced that it does not plan to provide security for Eisenkot or for Democratic Union chairman Yair Golan. The Shin Bet stated that it will provide a supervisory and intelligence support framework, including monitoring and building a threat assessment around the party leaders. Throughout the election campaign, the Shin Bet did not intervene in Eisenkot's security. The authority to determine who receives security was given to the Shin Bet by the Ministerial Committee for Shin Bet Affairs, headed by Justice Minister Yariv Levin, who was the only one to attend the discussion. Levin determined that Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar would set the security package for Eisenkot, Golan, and Amcha Israel chairman Ofer Winter. Yair Golan petitioned the High Court of Justice, but the judges did not accept his claims.
