The US Department of Justice has filed an indictment against Yehuda Far, a 30-year-old Israeli legally residing in Pennsylvania with a green card, for illegally voting in the November 2024 US presidential election. Far is one of nine foreign nationals indicted in Pennsylvania, including citizens of Israel, Cuba, Poland, Russia, Kenya, Greece, and the Netherlands. According to the charges, Far voted despite knowing he is not a US citizen and therefore ineligible to vote. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of one year in prison, a fine, or both. Federal prosecutor David Metcalf said that safeguarding election integrity is non-negotiable. The Justice Department emphasized that these are allegations that have not yet been proven and Far is presumed innocent.
