Israel launches massive campaign in New York
Before Netanyahu's speech at the UN, Israel placed about 500 billboards and dozens of trucks with ads about the Iranian threat in New York. The campaign aims to draw attention to the threat from Iran and the cooperation between Israel and the US.
On the eve of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech at the UN General Assembly in New York, Israeli authorities launched a massive public diplomacy campaign. About 500 billboards and dozens of trucks with digital screens have been installed near UN headquarters. The advertising materials focus on the threats Israel associates with Iran, as well as cooperation between Israel and the US. The posters feature the American and Israeli flags and carry messages about the nuclear and terrorist threat from Iran. Among the campaign slogans are "Freedom will not defend itself" and "A nuclear Iran cannot become a reality." One billboard also asks: "Whose side are you on?" A separate message is addressed to Iranian delegates, emphasizing the dire economic situation of Iran's population. Netanyahu's office stated that the campaign is intended to draw attention to the threat the Iranian regime poses to the free world and to highlight joint actions by Israel and the US. Israel has conducted similar campaigns before; last year the focus was on the events of October 7, 2023, and the fate of the hostages.
