Institutions and bodies call for general mobilization in support of Al-Aqsa Mosque
Islamic and Arab institutions and bodies, led by the Union of Institutions Working for Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa, have called for the revival of the Great Dawn Friday on October 2, 2026, and the organization of mass events in support of Al-Aqsa Mosque under the slogan "Al-Aqsa is not alone." The calls come in rejection of the escalation and Israeli measures in Jerusalem, and include multiple tracks such as adhering to religious and legal discourse, intensifying supplication and prayer, unifying Friday sermons, and organizing peaceful vigils and mass gatherings in Arab and Islamic capitals.

The Union stated in a statement that the call comes in rejection of the escalation and measures it said target Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and to transform political positions and statements into popular and field activities. It explained that the proposed activities include several tracks, including adherence to religious and legal discourse in the face of Israeli measures related to Al-Aqsa Mosque, intensifying supplication and prayer for the people of Jerusalem and the steadfast in Gaza, in addition to unifying Friday sermons to discuss developments related to holy sites. The Union also called for organizing peaceful vigils and mass gatherings in a number of squares and Arab and Islamic capitals, with the aim of launching a popular movement, according to the statement. The Union said in its appeal: "Al-Aqsa is the trust of the nation, and supporting it is a collective responsibility, and today is the time to turn love into a position, and statements into action." The calls come amid continued settler incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of occupation forces, coinciding with measures and restrictions imposed by the occupation authorities in the city of Jerusalem, according to Palestinian sources.
