A serious indictment has been filed against a Palestinian resident of Jericho, following an investigation by the Hebron police station in the Judea and Samaria District. The investigation revealed a severe and ongoing pattern of violence against his wife over the past years, including repeated physical assaults, strangulation, humiliation, and threats to her life. According to the indictment, which includes nine counts of aggravated assault, assault, threats, and violation of a legal order, the defendant brutally attacked his wife even during her pregnancies. He whipped her body with an electrical cable, stepped on her, and threatened her life with a gun-like object. He also adopted a controlling pattern that included taking her ID card, mobile phone, and credit card to prevent her from leaving the house. The case was uncovered last September after the woman filed a detailed complaint. The police have requested detention until the end of proceedings.
